MEET KATRINA KEMP
Holistic Health Coach & Nutritional Consultant
Helping women bridge the gap between healthcare & self-care through practical education and personalized support.
For more than 25 years, I’ve had the privilege of helping people improve their health and quality of life. My professional journey has spanned the fields of rehab, fitness, medicine, nutrition, health coaching, and yoga. Each experience has deepened my understanding of the connections between mind, body, and daily habits—and shaped my belief that caring for your health should be personal, practical, and sustainable.

Cultivating Health Beyond the Exam Room
Over the years, one thing has become increasingly clear to me - there is a difference between treating disease and cultivating health.
Both matter, and lasting well-being is best supported when they work together.
Healthcare can help us diagnose, treat, and manage disease. But so much of our health is shaped by what happens outside the exam room—how we nourish ourselves, move our bodies, rest and recover, manage stress, connect with others, and care for ourselves every day.
Bloom Into Health was created to bridge those two worlds - healthcare and self-care.
My Journey
My healthcare career began in Occupational Therapy after earning my Bachelor of Health Science from the University of Florida in 1999. Occupational therapy taught me to look beyond the diagnosis and truly see the whole person. I learned how to address physical, mental, and emotional challenges and provide practical solutions through environmental modifications, adaptive equipment, and therapeutic activities to help people participate more fully and independently in the activities that mattered to them.
It taught me to listen closely, adapt creatively, and help people build on their strengths.
Wanting to deepen my understanding of the human body, disease, diagnosis, and treatment, I returned to the University of Florida and earned my Master of Physician Assistant Studies in 2005. That same year, I joined Bay Area Arthritis and Osteoporosis in Brandon, Florida, where I have spent the past 21 years caring for individuals with various forms of arthritis, autoimmune diseases, and other musculoskeletal conditions.
The next chapter of my journey brings these complementary experiences together to create Bloom Into Health, blending science and self-care to help women improve their mindset, meals, and movement to build optimal health and happiness.

That's when I recognized an important gap in healthcare & the seeds of Bloom Into Health began to grow.
My Philosophy
Rooted in nature. Guided by science. Personalized for you.
I believe healthcare and self-care belong together. I believe the body deserves respect rather than punishment, and that health encompasses body, mind, and spirit. I believe nourishing food, movement, rest, connection, community, purpose, and time in nature all have a place in our wellbeing.
I believe there is tremendous value in creating supportive spaces where women can learn, practice, connect, and grow alongside one another. We are not meant to do everything alone, and sometimes the encouragement and connection we find in community become part of what helps us move forward.
I also believe there is no single perfect way to be healthy. Each of us brings a different body, health history, lifestyle, responsibilities, preferences, challenges, and goals to the process. Health should be personalized rather than prescribed as a one-size-fits-all formula.
Most importantly, I believe you have more influence over your health than you may realize. My role is to help you understand your health, discover what matters most, create a realistic plan, and support you as you learn to put that knowledge into practice—until you feel increasingly confident in your ability to listen, choose, and trust yourself. My hope is to help women move beyond simply surviving to create the conditions that allow them to begin truly thriving.
That’s what it means to Bloom Into Health.

Survive to Thrive
Bridging Healthcare & Self-Care
I have tremendous respect for conventional healthcare and the essential role it plays in diagnosing and treating disease. I also recognize the limits of what can realistically happen during a medical appointment.
There often isn’t enough time to explore all of the daily lifestyle factors that influence how we feel and function. How are you nourishing yourself? Are you moving in ways that support your body and abilities? Are you getting enough rest and recovery? How are you managing stress? Do you have meaningful connection and support? And are you making space to care for yourself at all?
These are not small things. They are part of the foundation upon which our health is built.
Through Bloom Into Health, I help women take what they know about their health and translate it into how they actually live. Together, we simplify the overwhelming amount of information, identify what matters most, create realistic goals that support health in everyday life.

Simple. Structured. Supported.
Because so much of our health happens between medical appointments.
My role is not to replace your healthcare team. It is to work alongside the healthcare you receive by helping you become a more informed, confident, and active participant in your own health.

A Holistic Approach
My curiosity about health eventually led me seek deeper knowledge and training in nutrition, fitness, functional medicine, health coaching, yoga, and Ayurveda. I wanted to better understand not only how we treat disease and survive, but how we create the conditions that allow a person to thrive.
Yoga became a meaningful part of that journey.
I completed my 200-hour Yoga Teacher training in 2013 and my 500-hour training in 2019 at the Lotus Pond Center for Yoga and Health in Tampa, Florida. My training was primarily rooted in the Iyengar tradition, a therapeutic approach to Hatha Yoga that emphasizes alignment, awareness, and adapting the practice to the unique needs of the individual.
I had the privilege of studying under Karin Stephan, one of the early women to introduce Iyengar Yoga to the United States after studying with B.K.S. Iyengar in India.
I continued my own education through additional training in Restorative Yoga, Yoga for Scoliosis, Yoga for Arthritis and Chronic Pain, Yoga for Seniors, Divine Sleep® Yoga Nidra, Vinyasa Yoga, and Ayurveda.
Today, I teach gentle and restorative yoga and offer private sessions for individuals seeking more personalized instruction.
One of the things I love most about teaching is creating a space where people can slow down, reconnect with themselves, and experience movement in a way that respects their individual bodies and abilities.

Why I Created Bloom Into Health?
What if we helped people become active participants in creating their health—not only recipients of healthcare?
That question became Bloom Into Health, LLC.
I created Bloom Into Health especially for women in midlife who have spent years caring for everyone and everything around them—and are realizing that somewhere along the way, their own health moved further down the list.
Many are also navigating arthritis, autoimmune conditions, chronic pain, menopause, fatigue, changing bodies, or other chronic health concerns. They know they want to feel better and may even know many of the things they should be doing. But knowing what to do and knowing how to make it work within the realities of everyday life are two very different things.
Caring for yourself shouldn’t become one more overwhelming obligation on an already full to-do list.
You don’t need another person telling you everything you’re doing wrong, another rigid wellness plan, or another overwhelming list of things you should be doing. You need help making sense of the information, identifying what matters most, creating realistic structure, and having support as you put it into practice.
My goal isn’t to make you dependent on me for answers. It is to help you develop the knowledge, confidence, and self-trust to become an active participant in your own health.

Why Call It Bloom Into Health?
I’ve always been drawn to the lotus flower—not only for its beauty, but for what it teaches us about the nature of growth.
A flower cannot be forced to bloom. We cannot pull open its petals or rush its unfolding. We can only tend to it—providing nourishing soil, water, light, air, protection, and time. When it has the resources it needs, growth happens from within.
We are nature, too.
Our bodies are living, dynamic systems with rhythms and needs of their own. Just as a plant requires the right conditions to flourish, we must tend to the whole of who we are—body, mind, and spirit.
For us, those resources may look like nourishing food and clean water, movement and rest, sunlight and fresh air, meaningful relationships, purpose, connection, and space to breathe, recover, reflect, and reconnect with ourselves.
This is what Bloom Into Health means to me. Health isn’t something we force through punishment, perfection, or another rigid plan. It is something we cultivate through the choices we make, the resources we provide ourselves, and the way we tend to our needs over time.
It is a commitment. A practice. A devotion to caring for ourselves.

Like the lotus, which roots in the mud before rising toward the light, we can also grow through difficult seasons.
There will be times of growth and times of rest, times when we need more nourishment and times when we simply need patience with what is changing beneath the surface.
We don’t force the bloom. We tend to the conditions that make blooming possible.
That is the heart of Bloom Into Health.
